RBS & Natwest unveil UK loyalty scheme

In the UK, RBS and Natwest bank have announced details of their 'Cashback Plus' loyalty programme, available to all customers over the age of 18 who have any RBS or Natwest current accounts (except for the Basic, Key and Cash accounts).

Members who use their RBS Visa Debit card at participating retailers earn a minimum of 1% of their spend on qualifying purchases back as Rewards. There's no extra card to carry - they simply activate a Cashback Plus account, then shop. The earn/burn rate is 1% (so every £1 spent equates to a reward worth £0.01).

When the rewards balance is £5 or more, members have three ways in which they can redeem their rewards:

  1. They can deposit the reward into their RBS current account;
  2. They can exchange the reward for gift cards or tickets from participating retailers;
  3. They can donate the cash value of the reward to selected charities, including Barnado's, Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Support and the NSPCC.

Participating retailers currently include: BP, Caffe Nero, H Samuel, Cineworld, Ernest Jones, Multiyork, Charles Tyrwhitt, Loch Fyne, New Look, AmericanGolf, Feather and Black and Hungry Horse.
